I’m So Proud
Written by: Curtis Mayfield

When I was about 16, I loved the back stage acapella harmonies and the street corner singing. After practice one day, I told Brad & Brook about the song. It sounded so good I decided to record it.

Lost Illusions
Words by: Rosie Hamlin
Music by: James Bentley

It’s like how a face in the crowd can bring a flood of memories on. As you think of memories you might begin to wonder if it was real or just lost illusions. Sometimes it’s easier to forget the reality of the past, than the one in your mind. I wrote the words and sent them to James Bentley, who wrote the music. We found out we were good co-writers.

Just Take Your Time
Words & Music by: James Bentley

James had these lyrics in his mind for a long time, so one day he sat down and wrote this song.

You’ll Lose a Good Thing
Written by: Barbara Lynn

I’ve been singing this song for years and I love it, so I decided to record this song.

Angel Baby
Words & Music by: Rosie Hamlin

Pat Woertink said we should include “Angel Baby,” I guess it’s time.

Gallery of Dreams
Words by: Rosie Hamlin
Music by: James Bentley and Brad Pierce

I wrote the words between Victorville and Flagstaff, driving back to New Mexico. Feeling very inspired after several studio rehearsals, the sun was coming up and I felt great! It sounds like a love song but in reality, I was feeling the camaraderie of all of us on the recording project and how each of us dreams and how music paints a picture, thus Gallery of Dreams evolved. I faxed the words to James and he built the basic melody, then Brad and Brook came over and we worked on the song. It evolved musically as an unplugged song.

La Bamba
Written by: Ritchie Valens

This was Pat’s baby because of our mutual respect for Ritchie Valens and his family. Pat called Ernie Valens over and we sang together on it. James did an accordion thing on it to give it a Tex Mex sound at Pat’s request. We dedicate this song to Ritchie Valens.

For Love
Words & Music by: James Bentley

James wrote this song as a tribute to his wife.

Steppin’ Out in Style
Words & Music by: James Bentley

James and I were talking, we needed a tribute song to our car clubs who have supported us so much. James came up with this cool jazzy song, lyrics and all. This song is dedicated to all car club friends.

Vilar Con Migo
Words & Music by: Rosie Hamlin

When I first wrote it, the song was called the “Happy Medium” with a Latin feel to it. Then Pat wanted it to be more of a Latin dance tune and it evolved from there, but the message is, don’t get caught up in the everyday stuff so much that you can’t enjoy life and dance, so come on and dance.

Angel Baby (Spanglish Version)
Words & Music by: Rosie Hamlin

With encouragement from my manager Eugene Davidson, Pat Woertink and Mario Cruz, I went back to the studio to record Angel Baby in English and Spanish. Mario says it will do well in the Latin community and it’s something I have wanted to do for a long time. Well fans, here it is.
