Volunteer Work
Across more than 45 years, Rosie devoted her music and her time to Latino causes, underprivileged children, disabled veterans, abused youth, prison inmates, and the elderly. The following list, compiled by Rosie, is organized chronologically.
1990s
First Annual Drug & Alcohol Conference, La Causa
Cal State San Bernardino. Rosie shared her experiences and sang for the concerts. She also served on the board of La Causa Alcohol & Drug Services.
1999
Jeanette O’Day Scholarship Fundraiser Concert
For Coachella High School, to raise funds for underprivileged children to attend college.
1998
Wilmington Athletic Complex Concert & Car Show
Over $12,000 raised for athletes of multi-ethnic heritage.
Hispanic Heritage Day, Altus, Oklahoma
Motivational speech and musical performance.
Salvation Army & Inner City Youth Concert
Phoenix, Arizona. Raised money for food and clothes.

MEChA Chicano Youth Center Concert
Against Violence, Guns, and Drugs. Fresno, California.

Barrio Station, San Diego
Twenty-two years of fundraisers for neighborhood justice efforts — removal of junkyards in Barrio Logan, purchase of concrete for community sidewalk improvements, and donated performances for César E. Chávez Parades.
Pharaohs Car Club Halloween Night Concert
To raise money for victims of violent crimes — Mark Richards at Rancho Los Amigos hospital in Downey, and Sandra Ramirez, a mother of three who was gunned down.
Luther Burbank Center for the Arts
Santa Rosa, California. Proceeds to benefit the LBC Performing Arts.
Wilmington & Downey Toy Giveaway Concert
Fundraiser concert for underprivileged children.
Harmony Cruise Night, Johnny’s Broiler
South Bay area — unifying car club members from the South Bay and East Side, promoting social awareness and a family atmosphere.
Cinco de Mayo Concert — Wilmington & Downey
Pharaohs Car Club’s first car-cruise concert, raising Christmas toys for underprivileged children.

Ritchie Valens Fundraiser, Hollywood
To raise money for his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Hemet Hospice Fundraiser, California
Musical performance fundraiser for terminally ill patients of the hospice program.
Victory Outreach Musical Program
Bakersfield and Pomona, California. Donated time and travel for rehabilitated offenders’ musical programs.
Social Services, Colorado
Foster mother for an abused 15-year-old, victim of alcoholic parents. On-call for emergency placement of abused children of all ages. Utilized community sources for clothing and food supplementing for youth.
Casa Ramona, San Bernardino
Fundraisers for underprivileged children to attend weekend camping trips, and for Hispanic senior citizens.
United Way Fundraiser, Hemet
Live TV interview and performance. Fundraiser for children with cancer.
Calvary Chapel, San Bernardino
Donated time collecting and distributing food, toys, and clothing for underprivileged people.
YAA TEAM Mother & Activity Coordinator, Oregon
Supervised multiethnic youngsters ages 10–13 three times a week and one weekend day during game activities. Planned and ran fundraising events: ecology clean-up, home safety awareness (fire and electrical hazards), bake sales, and transportation to and from events.

A.N.A.N.D.A. Disabled Americans
San Bernardino, California.
Cub Scout Den Mother, San Bernardino
Directed, supervised, and transported a multicultural group of children ages 6–8 on field trips and at Scout-O-Rama Day’s soap box derby. Supervised concession stands in San Bernardino and Ferris Hill Park — including transporting 12 youngsters to the Orange Show.
Norco State Prison Musical Programs
Planned, supervised, and performed musical concerts for inmates in coordination with inmate program leaders. Directly responsible for band members on the bus and program logistics.
Mercy Crusade Animal Rescue, San Diego
Founded and organized a private non-profit animal rescue service. Supervised six other individuals ages 18–23 in the rescue, administration of shots and medicine, and housing of abandoned or sick animals.
Lions Club, Colton, California
Phone correspondence with local businesses to purchase or donate tickets for the circus, allowing disabled and underprivileged children ages 3–18 from many nationalities to attend.
Disabled Veterans of Vietnam — Wheelchair Olympics
Colton, California. Served as phone secretary for the DVV, supporting Vietnam veterans participating in the Wheelchair Olympics in Washington D.C. through the purchase of American flags.

Donated three consecutive years to the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon on Channel 11 — interviews and musical performance.
