Rosie, don't get me wrong, I love Angel Baby and think it is an absolutely beautiful song, and like everyone else I'm sure, it's the first song of yours that I ever heard. Even at age seven, I was astounded by your vocal range, and by your effortless ability to reach those high notes. They just came shimmering out of every AM radio, we all listened to AM in those days. There were a few AM stations that simulcast on FM as well, but that was indeed rare. I truly do love Angel Baby, but I've just heard the song so much, and being a true collector, as soon as I heard Angel Baby, I had to hear more recordings of that gorgious voice. It took me many years to find other people that were as passionately into music as I was, but by the mid seventies, I was hanging around exclusively with such a group and pretty much ignoring the disco era and enjoying the doo-wop and R&B music of the fifties and early sixties, a lot of which I had missed because I had been so young. The song of yours that I think is just a perfect record, a record in which your vocals are just stunning, the record of yours that I love the most, is Angel From Above. The engineer who put the echo on your voice, put just enough echo on it to make it shine and stand out, without over doing it. Remember the Stan Freberg take off of Elvis' Heartbreak Hotel? Anyway Rosie, your singing range back then was absolutely phenomenal, and the funny thing is, I always thought you were 19 or 20 at the time. Of course I was only 7 when Angel Baby hit the charts. Anyway Rosie, I have been a fan of yours ever since, and I guess the best way to describe your voice, is by quoting your own first line of Angel Baby, 'It's just like heaven! By the way, I have a private, by invitation only website, in which I share audio files, mostly oldies with friends, and some of their friends as well. I have invited the webmaster of your site to take Angel From Above from my website and put it on this site if he would like. And I would love for you to check out my website if you get a few moments Rosie. By the way, I set up this site completely on my own although I am totally blind. Anyway, it's a site that I think just might interest you, because you never know what new oldies and novelty records will end up on my site. Angel Baby was my first boyfriend's and my song in 1963. I often play it and feel that I am back in those wonderful days. I could play Angel Baby over and over again and never get tired of it. I still consider it as my favorite song. I'm now working for my old boyfriend and we talk about those days and Angel Baby often.... Collapse
