A small dance hall in an old borough owned building. I was about 12 when I first heard Angel Baby dancing with a blonde girl who was about an inch taller than I. She didnt seem to care. We always picked each other when it was " ladies choice ". The feeling was..well....I cant describe it, just that they were moments to remember. Didnt marry her, But I sure recall those innocent dances in the neighborhood house. No offense intended but I was sure Rosie and the Originals were a black group. Perhaps thats quite a complement for the time..

I remember this song from when I was a kid--52 now. I got this on an oldies CD about a year ago and did some research on it just the last couple of weeks and found this site. I miss the old days of music and find the part about how you recorded it and how they had to teach the sax player the part as well as how to play it. I really miss those simplier days.

Hey Rosie! I am posting again. Last time was in Feb 2003, my Granddaughter was just 5 months old, and I told you I sang Angel Baby to her since the day she was born. She is now 2, and sings it with me. What a special song, for so many people, for so many reasons. You rock Rosie! Thanks for the memories. Wishing you a Wonderful, Happy and Healthy New Year! God Bless.

I grew up in Lemon Grove, Ca - not far from National City and now live in Rancho Bernardo, near San Marcos where you recorded Angel Baby. I am now 57 and remember attending Lemon Grove Jr. High and then Mt. Miguel, and my first true love, Donna Sherrod. We shared "Angel Baby" as OUR SONG, and I love it to this day. Brngs back the fondest of my childhood memories and still brings the tears. Thank you for your contribution to my life.

Miss Rosie- I had to post again- this time to say thank you for the guitar tablature you've added. I've been playing guitar for a little less than year and am proud to say that I've already figured out most of 'Angel Baby' on my own! May God bless you and restore your health. I'm keeping you in my prayers! Happy Holidays to you and your family.

I was awestruck when I heard your song ANGEL BABY for the first time in my life (summer of 2004). Well, actually I saw the re-enactment of the song in Mi Familia, but still to hear it as you and the originals recorded was a wonderful moment. It's such a crystal song. So beautiful, simple and just. I can't place why this song is so awesome, but it stays in my mind. Recently as I awoke from a dream and feeling happy, I was singing the song. Thanks and you keep up your health and your gift of music. I would like to write a short-play for this song. I will work on this.

Hi Rosie, What a nice surprise. I just reviewed some CD liner notes about you and found you had lived in Alaska, so I ended up at your site. It turns out I live about two blocks from Denali Elementary. Your school was taken down about two years ago and there is a new building now. Alaska is still a great place to live. I am sure it is a lot different than when you lived here. In any case, love the songs and have enjoyed your site. Take care and do you ever come to Alaska anymore?

Always enjoyed your music and songs. I have had the Rosie album (in stereo on the Brunswick label) since the early 60's. Those songs always bring back great memories of high school sweethearts and dances as I was growing up in NYC. John Lennon was quoted as saying "Angel Baby is my all-time favorite song". Enjoyed discovering this website and reading everyones comments. Cheers
